i ran pkg-clean a minute ago and it asked me if i wanted to unmerge spython. i looked at the screen and saw 2 merged packages of spython, so i chose the older one and unmerged it. the next thing i can remember was a dying portage "/usr/bin/env: spython: No such file or directory". i realized that i would be unable to do anything w/o spython (linking /usr/bin/python to /usr/bin/spython didnt help too: "ImportError: No module named portage"). so i asked seemant if he could send me a binary so that i am unable to remerge the spython package. lets see if that works. -phoen][x-
installing the binary package and remerging spython did work. i for myself wont touch pkg-clean anymore - its way too dangerous. -phoen][x-
Karl, this is mainly informational... feel free to mark it as whatever.
in case you need to know more, ask me on irc (or ask in here) i'm sure that i can reproduce it -phoen][x-
This is a known feature, not really a bug.
