There's a check in the pkg_setup part of the transcode-1.0.2-r2 ebuild which requires X be compiled with xv enabled.  This check is done regardless of whether the X use flag is enabled or not.  Adding an additional "use X" to this check fixes this issue (it compiles cleanly with this modification).
