Apparently the install can't create a symlink. Strange when one is root.
I added part of the outut, should be all that is necessary.

forgot to add:

I had the previous version of celestia installed. forgot to uninstall on first
attempt of 1.4.0 -> received a failure. unmerged previous version and emerged
1.4.0 again. Then received the messages in this bugreport.

This is the error i'm getting during the install process. It claims the
impossibility to remove the /usr/share/apps/celestia directory

marco: your error i got when trying the ebuild attached to bug 116600, not
using the committed ebuild which is from the overlay referenced in that bug,
make sure your overlay is clean and emerge sync, let me know if that clears it
up for you then

once i get feedback and 'emerge info' we will see if we can find something,
here it works

USE=-gnome and i get the reported symlink issue, marco, this is not your issue
:)

Wait 2 hours, sync, merge celestia, it should no longer have access violations
in install phase
