Bleh, we don't support gcc-4.1, reopen with a patch.

Had the same problem. Upgrading ffmpeg from 0.4.9_p20051120 to 0.4.9_p20051216 fixed it for me.

Seems like there is no ffmpeg installed here -- missing dependency?:

Yeah, same here. gcc 3.4.5, ffmpeg not installed. Installing ffmpeg fixed it for me.

ffmpeg is a mandatory package to build transcode according to <http://www.transcoding.org/cgi-bin/transcode?Building_Transcode>.

Does it make sense, then, to `USE="-ffmpeg" emerge transcode`?
Comment 15 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-14 15:52:34 UTC
Sorry, I forgot about this for a while now. ffmpeg useflag dropped, now ffmpeg is mandatory.

Thanks, and sorry again.

Comment 17 Niels Laukens 2007-02-07 11:12:48 UTC
How is this fixed if I still have this problem with the latest stable transcode (currently 1.0.2-r2)?
Comment 18 Niels Laukens 2007-02-07 11:22:36 UTC
grmbl.... never mind...
forgot to "emerge -u ffmpeg"
still it might be worth it to change the dependency to ">=ffmpeg-SOME_VERSION"
Comment 19 Samu Voutilainen 2008-07-20 23:14:35 UTC
I had this error, but rebuilding ffmpeg fixed it. Just FYI.
