I switched my rsync to xinetd and it took me quite a while to get it running -- the actual reason was that I had the wrong permissions set, but an existing service file for rsync would have ehlped a lot :)

So, here it is, including a patch against rsync-2.6.6-r1.ebuild.  It uses the local use flag xinetd which is already used by a bunch of other ebuilds (an xinetd.eclass might be a better soltution at some point, but for the beginning a static file works fine).

P.S.: rsync is missing a metadata.xml
