Hey guys can you please test and keyword like you want (if possible the latest
versions so we can keep the keyword on the future versions).

app-cdr/cdrdao
app-cdr/cdrtools
app-cdr/dvdrtools

------- Comment #1 From Thomas Cort (RETIRED) 2006-02-17 04:43:27 0000 -------
I tried cdrecord (from cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha01-r2), gnomebaker-0.5.1-r2 (gnome
frontend for cdrecord), and xcdroast-0.98_alpha15-r3 (X frontend for cdrecord)
with my new IDE CD-R/RW drive in my alpha. After 5 mis-burns I conclude that
cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha01-r2 isn't ready for the ~alpha keyword.

With xcdroast I got a bunch of unaligned trap's in my kernel log, but it
reported that the ISO was burned successfully. However, the md5sum of
/dev/cdrom didn't match the md5sum of the ISO. The CD was definitely corrupt.
It was supposed to be bootable, but it didn't boot. I tried burning two more
CD-Rs from the same ISO in xcdroast. When I did md5sum /dev/cdrom after burning
the ISO, the md5sum was different for both CD-Rs and neither md5sum matched the
md5sum of the ISO image.

When I tried burning the ISO with gnomebaker I also got a "successfully burned"
message. However, every time I try md5sum /dev/cdrom I get this (with the exact
same sectors listed, etc) in my kernel log:
Feb 17 07:47:48 [kernel] [4282161.273352] hda: command error: status=0x51 {

Feb 17 07:49:30 [kernel] [4282262.869980] ide: failed opcode was: unknown

I tried burning the ISO with "cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrw blah.iso". Again, it
didn't report any errors, but when I tried md5sum /dev/cdrom I got an I/O
error:
Feb 17 08:27:43 [kernel] [4284555.942048] hda: command error: status=0x51 {

Those I/O Errors also occur when I try to md5sum those two CDs in other
computers.

------- Comment #2 From Thomas Cort (RETIRED) 2006-02-20 17:57:25 0000 -------
I was able to burn a working Gentoo Live CD with app-cdr/cdrtools-2.01-r1
(current stable version for alpha), so I don't think there is a problem with my
burner.

cdrdao-1.1.7-r3 does not compile due to g++ not liking linux-headers (see bug
#59351, bug #54632). However, cdrdao-1.2.1-r1 compiles without any errors and I
was able to burn audio CDs just fine. Maybe someone can add the ~alpha keyword
to cdrdao-1.2.1-r1?

I can't test app-cdr/dvdrtools. I don't have a DVD burner.

------- Comment #3 From Thomas Cort (RETIRED) 2006-04-02 15:29:14 0000 -------
Marked cdrdao-1.2.1-r1 and its deps ~alpha. app-cdr/cdrtools doesn't burn
correctly (see my previous comments), and I don't have a DVD burner to test
app-cdr/dvdrtools.

and with alpha07 ?

I was able to burn a working live cd this time :-D

I marked cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha07 ~alpha.
