There was a stable version of skype on x86 a while back (1.0.0.1), and it was removed.  This is not a Good Thing (Tm).  Can the current stable version go stable so people that we can fix this?

stable on x86, A stable version reappears ;)

And what about amd64? It doesn't seem to work worse than on an x86.
