After trying to build a new kernel based on my working 2.6.13-gentoo kernel config. I ended up with a kernel who wasn't willing to boot. The old kernel does boot. Attached are a 'screenshot' and the kernel config. I'm going to try the vanilla sources too... incase this is a gentoo specific problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

Created attachment 74783 [details] Kernelconfig-vanilla Kernel boots for vanilla-2.6.15-rc5.
This is related to NUMA and SPARSEMEM. This patch should fix it for 2.6.14. Please test. http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff_plain;h=d3ee871e63d0a0c70413dc0aa5534b8d6cd6ec37;hp=8893166ff8694f36655009aa9bf8e7f2e1c9339f
The patch, manually applyed, works for me. (To be honest, I see another odd long line too, directly after grub booting for 2.6.14 and 2.6.15, but I'm too slow to get it on photo. So maybe it is nothing, just a ghostimage on CRT (like the kernel version), but better said than keep it silent.)
Fixed in gentoo-sources-2.6.14-r5 (genpatches 2.6.14-6)
