This is a heads up that R-2.2.1 is coming. I don't have the schedule, but it's
in beta now and I'm in the process of testing it. There were some severe bugs in
R-2.2.0 and I've been running the patched version for some time, so this is good
news. If I can find the date, I'll post that here.

Keep us posted on this - I was just thinking the other day about what we should 
do with regards to the PDF bug that was present.

According to the R-devel mailing list, the release is scheduled for December
20,
2005. I've built the beta on my Athlon XP with Gentoo 3.4.4/blas-atlas and it
passed all the built-in tests. 

I'm not sure it's linking in the Gentoo atlas, though -- it may be looking for
a
static library rather than the shared library Gentoo builds. I'll file a
separate bug if I find something wrong in the actual ebuilds.

R-2.2.1 was released yesterday (December 20, 2005) right on schedule. I've
tested the Windows version and the full test of the source is under way. I'd
say this is a "go".
