I'm pretty excited about this ebuild. I track the bioperl project listserve and use it for my work, however I'm not a developer there. I would, however, be happy to maintain this ebuild (and the bioperl-cvs version) for the next few years. May be some formatting issues or something about perl*.eclasses that I didn't grok. Another reason bioperl-cvs is useful: On the bioperl-l list, after describing a problem with the bioperl code, it is not rare that users are told to upgrade to current CVS -- new "stable" releases are generally obsolete in 1-2 months and new releases are about every 6. Cheers, Gontran

This is now masked in portage. I can't unmask it until the expat version you require is unmasked since bioperl's deps cannot be fulfilled otherwise.
