Description Joe McCann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-28 23:15:23 UTC
I had to remove keywords from the latest version of rhythmbox due to missing
keywords from new deps. Please keyword/test or use.mask avahi and then keyword
rhythmbox. Thanks :)

DEPEND.bad 2

'>=net-dns/avahi-0.5', '>=sys-apps/hal-0.5']

to be more exact since it is different for each arch
Comment 2 Patrick McLean gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 08:35:53 UTC
Works fine on amd64, media-libs/libgpod-0.2.0 needs to be keyworded as well for
the pda use flag to work (see bug #113912)
Comment 3 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 09:14:04 UTC
I find the pda USE flag kinda wrong, since it enables ipod support and the ipod
isn't precisely a pda. Also since it requires hal i can either do an "arch mask"
!sparc? pda? ... or have it fixed to be something more user-friendly and mask that.
Comment 4 Patrick McLean gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 09:20:16 UTC
I believe that we do have a few packages in portage that have optional support
for the iPod. Maybe the time is ripe for an "ipod" global USE flag? Or maybe
something more generic like "hwmp3" or "musicplayer".
Comment 5 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 09:54:49 UTC
i'm going to keyword because i found this version very buggy. It crashes almost
everytime i play a radio.

Comment 6 Joe McCann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 10:33:43 UTC
Change the use pda flag to ipod since it makes it easier for archs to use.mask
the hal deps.
Comment 7 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 10:40:24 UTC
~sparc'ed, thanks Joe.
Luis: AFAIK the 0.9.x branch is development and Joe just wants to get the deps
fullfiled for the future.
Comment 8 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 11:19:28 UTC
yes i understand all dependencies are ready on amd64. But i'm not sure about
this package it sounds very unstable to me. About my previous comment there is a
typo i'm _not_ going*.(at least for now) add ~amd64 keyword. Probably some ATs
can test this again and see if we can keyword it later or on a next release.
Comment 9 Joe McCann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 11:26:16 UTC
re comment #8

Thats totally fine. I only added amd64 as a cc since the last release had that
keyword. This a development release. Normally we don't put development releases
in the tree but the last stable release of rhythmbox was well over a year ago
and doesn't work so well for most people. If you or any other arch testers find
bugs and want to report them upstream I'm sure they would appreciate it.
Comment 10 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 11:42:03 UTC
i will test this better with the ATs and discuss later. Why don't you mask this
package? We will keyword it without any problems since it's masked.
Comment 11 Joe McCann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-29 11:49:11 UTC
I haven't had any problems with it that make it deserve masking. Its also the
only release upstream will really support and I'd rather have anybody using
rhythmbox use this version since there isn't support for the other one which can
make bugs difficult.
Comment 12 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-31 07:27:19 UTC
removing amd64... when a new release hit the tree we will test again.
Comment 13 Ben Carr 2006-01-31 14:26:07 UTC
compiles and runs fine for me on amd64
Comment 14 Joe Jezak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-02-17 09:31:23 UTC
Marked 0.9.3.1 ~ppc.
Comment 15 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-08 08:36:53 UTC
the new version runs much better now on amd64. Keyword added.
Comment 16 Luis Medinas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-04-17 12:28:48 UTC
since joe is having some problems with his computer i'm closing this bug.
