Description:   Opened: 2005-11-17 03:34 0000 
The attached patch applied over current ebuild (and last masked ebuild) 
exports CC and LD to allow the package to cross-build (and to cross-distcc 
it).

Ebuild patch

I have incorporated this enhancement into a new build I wrote that applies a 
patch that sort of fixes an upstream bug ("ssmtp: uninitialized variable causes 
garbage in rewritten From: header"[1]).

It would also be nice to have an assigned maintainer for this system package, 
and arguably a metadata.xml.

Source patch and ebuild patch to follow.

i added a bug in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127592
before i see the ssmtp-buf-init.patch patch here. but i proposed another
(better, imho) patch
