The hsshellscript-2.6.0 ebuild has: DEPEND="=virtual/ghc-6.4 but I *think* this should be DEPEND=">=virtual/ghc-6.4 so it works with ghc-6.4.1-r1. I made this change and it appears to emerge and work fine with ghc-6.4.1-r1. The ChangeLog says: Added new hsshellscript version. This version only works for >= ghc6.4 so it looks like ">=" is correct. Also, after you emerge hsshellscript-2.6.0 the following file has permissions 600 so it is not world readable: % ls -l /usr/lib/ghc-6.4.1/imports/hsshellscript.h -rw------- 1 root root 1228 Nov 14 09:08 /usr/lib/ghc-6.4.1/imports/hsshellscript.h Not sure if this is a problem with the ebuild or an upstream problem but wanted to mention it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge ghc-6.4.1-r1 2. try to emerge hsshellscript-2.6.0 3. fix the dependency and then emerge Actual Results: Emerge fails with dependency on ghc-6.4 even though ghc-6.4.1-r1 is installed. Once that is fixed, it installs /usr/lib/ghc-6.4.1/imports/hsshellscript.h with permissions 600. Expected Results: It should recognize ghc-6.4.1 as satisfying the necessary ghc dependency. Also, once you fix the dependency it should install /usr/lib/ghc-6.4.1/imports/hsshellscript.h with permissons 644. I have just fixed this problem. It also looks like mainstream doesn't set the proper permissions for the header, i also took care of that on the ebuild. Thank you very much Rob.
