Hi. Logwatch 7.0 stable is out. I'd be grateful if this could be added to the
tree. Many thanks.

------- Comment #1 From Narada Sage 2005-11-02 12:46:31 0000 -------
Hi again. I'm not sure if this should be filed separately but since a new
ebuild will be created I felt I should
make a mention. When I emerged logwatch it was automatically added to daily
cron which is fine but the
email I got every day contained virtually no information. So by default,
logwatch, serves almost no
purpose on gentoo. For example, the sshd logs are in /var/log/sshd/ instead of
being /var/log/messages
and /var/log/secure as on other distributions. Therefore no bad login or good
login information is
provided. So different log file location may be one reason. Another reason
may be that I am using
packages that are not supported by default. However, I believe the base system
should be supported on a
default installation of logwatch. Thanks. Please let me know your thoughts.
It may be something I'm
doing wrong.

------- Comment #3 From Roman Pertl 2005-11-04 07:21:32 0000 -------
logwatch-7.0 does not work for me

i get this error
/usr/share/logwatch//default.conf/services: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht
gefunden at /usr/sbin/logwatch.pl line 399.
(tried to unmerge logwatch-6.x before emerging logwatch-7.0 but didn't change
anything)

i found out that logwatch-7.0 uses another filestructure, i found this post on
the logwatch mailinglist:
http://www2.list.logwatch.org:8080/pipermail/logwatch/2005-October/000952.html
