The existing ebuild for RC8 works for this release. But "candidate" must be
removed in SRC_URI in ebuilds (openafs, openafs-kernel).

Though I have a preliminary upgrade guide at
http://dev.gentoo.org/~stefaan/prerelease/openafs-guide/guide.html, it'd
preferably be put online as official Gentoo documentation before I push this
ebuild...

Upgrade guide is online now.  New openafs-1.4.0 ebuild committed to the tree,
with some extra init-script cleanups.
