Tested this yesterday and it seems ok. Made nasm a requirement now.

This works for me, too, and I think it is necessary to install transcode when the latest mplayer is installed, so we should look into getting this into portage ASAP.
There is already a bug fix version out. I'll put a 0.6.3.200212?? on the weekend. The bug fix is useful/necessary for NTSC DVD users with sound sync problems. I guess this one could be put in and unmasked as it seems ok for most users. The existing ffmpeg version in portage won't work with it. Thats not much of a problem. use divx5.nn etc.
Created attachment 6314 [details] transcode-0.6.3.20021205.ebuild Another transcode update. Bugs killed features added etc. I added it here rather than create a new bug report. Hope thats ok.
Both have been added to CVS but ~masked for the moment
20021205 Doesn't compile here. In filters/preview/Makefile there is a line x_includes = which results in a gcc call like gcc [...] -I -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 [...] which in turn results in a <gtk/gtk.h> not found error. Quick solution: call make x_includes=. Attached an ebuild, but this one also installs subrip from the contrib/ subdir. Without that you can't rip subtitles to txt files using DVD::Rip.
Created attachment 6519 [details] transcode-0.6.3.20021205.ebuild - Fixes compile bug - adds subrip to installed bins
> - adds subrip to installed bins does not work for me. Just look at Bug 12452 (for fix Bug 12471).
