I emerged glib-2.8.2 in my gentoo ppc64 system, and it was sucessful. But the problem with this version on my system is that the bug of veird cursor key behaviours(http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64359) reappears. So I reverted to glib-2.6.5, and it worked well as expected. May be someone could take a look at it. Thanks.
Created attachment 71015 [details, diff] patch for gtk+-2.6.8.ebuild Yang, Thanks for your report. Since the problem of Bug #64359 was truly solved by glib-2.8.0 or later version, my workaround patch (Attachment 46871 [details, diff]) caused this problem. I deleted the part which applies my patch from gtk+-2.8.6.ebuild. Please execute `emerge --sync` and re-emerge gtk+-2.8.6. And, please tell me result. If you want to use gtk+-2.6.8, please try appended patch. FYI, GLib 2.8.0 release announcement Please check the items of "Other changes". http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-announce-list/2005-August/msg00048.html Thanks!
Thank you very much, that did the trick! I also tried to emerge gtk+-2.8.6, together with glib-2.8.2, and both emerged successfully. But when I used nautilus under my gnome-2.10, its window frame flickered continuously until the frame got away, whenever I moved the mouse cursor over the buttons of the frame. Is it a known problem with gtk+-2.8.6, or a problem of my system? Thank you again.
I'm sorry. Since I'm not using gnome, I cannot immediately reply to your question now. I will test, when I have some free time. I added into gtk+-2.6.x.ebuild the code which investigates whether glib-2.8 or later version is installed. My patch is not applied when glib-2.8 or later version is installed. If you want to use gtk+-2.6.8(stable version), please execute `emerge --sync` and re-emerge gtk+-2.6.8.
this is fixed. Please reopen I missunderstand something.
