Hello, just wanted to say we released 1.7.9 in the meantime and very soon (I
think today) we will release 1.8.0rc and enter stabilization phase for final
1.8.0. So maybe this bug entry is not very urgent... :)

I just checked portage and it is still at 
games-server/pvpgn-1.6.6
when were the updated versions to be put into portage?

Dizzy:  Could you comment on this bug once 1.8.0 goes final and I'll just add

Yes I will, thank you for taking an interest in this. Currently I am delayed by
a personal reason (TES4: Oblivion ;)) and that there is a bug in rc2 vs rc1
that breaks some compatibility with some mysql server versions. We need to
address this at least for a final if not for a rc3. However now that it seems
more people are interested about it I will talk with the other devs maybe we
can at least get a rc3 out that fixes the rc2 issues and after the usual 2-3
weeks of stabilization of not having major bugs reported release a final.

pvpgn-1.8.0_rc2.ebuild + patch

Here's the ebuild and patch for pvpgn-1.8.0rc2.  It works and compiles fine on
my computer using GCC 4.1.

PvPGN 1.8.0 Released!

Finally, after so many months of waiting here it is, the official stable
release for pvpgn 1.8.0! It contains many bug fixes over the previous one
(1.8.0rc2), including important MySQL bug fixes, loading of all accounts in
sql2 just to name few. Find it at downloads as usual.

I've added 1.8.0 final to portage today.
