Looking at the build requirements for transcode (see URL) media-libs/netpbm is
not a required dependency to install transcode.

In fact, it's not even listed as an optional extra.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge transcode
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
media-libs/netpbm dependency

Expected Results:  
no media-libs/netpbm dependency

I concur with this.

I just emerge transcode-1.0.2-r1 without netpbm and it compiled and runs fine.
transcode -i INFILE -y ppm -o OUTFILE works, too.
So I really do not see a need for netpbm, at least for this version.
