Latest version of latex-beamer is 3.05. There have been several bug fixes and enhancements, including proper handling of serif math fonts. Very minor edits to the previous ebuild version were required. I notice that the ebuild is not installing the beamer emacs mode. Perhaps this should be fixed by someone who knows more about emacs. Instead of dumping all the beamer examples in /usr/share/lyx/examples, would it not be better to create /usr/share/lyx/examples/beamer, and then dump all the examples there?
Any chance about this ebuild? Now is 2 *months* after realease of beamer-3.06, and pgf-1.0 and still no trace of any ebuild...
The problem is that we are moving to tetex-3, which we'll try to stabilize as soon as the major issues are answered. And tetex-3 has pgf and beamer included, so it blocks those ebuilds. This is however a problem, as tetex does not update as often as pgf and beamer, which are very active... The real solution would be to find a way to make those optional in tetex-3, but it would require some work. I'll try to test and update beamer and pgf ebuilds with tetex-2, though.
ok, thanks for info that it isn't left alone, and about info about current status.
So does latex-beamer-3.06 work ok? Can it be put in portage with ~x86?
It is in CVS now, with a somewhat modified ebuild. It now also installs the elisp file... so enjoy! Thanks for reporting and your patience!
