Gdm 2.6x works flawlessly. With the exact same setup, gdm 2.8x does not list available users for autologin and autologin does not work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Applications -> System Tools -> Login Screen Setup (or Run as different user -> root + gdmsetup) 2.Tab General -> Check at "Automatic Login" "Login a user automatically on first bootup" 3.At "Automatic Login username" should have a list of all users present in system. It does not. Even if I enter my existing user manually, the next time at bootup auto-login never happens. I am presented with the login screen and the PC awaits for username & password. Actual Results: I was presented with the login screen and the PC awaited for username & password. Autologin never happened. Expected Results: It should have auto-logged me in, just as gdm 2.6x always did.
Thank you for reporting this issue. Please try with gdm-2.8.0.1-r1. Make sure to update your config files and restart the gdm daemon afterwards. For future reports, please remember to always include the output from "emerge --info".

New version gnome-base/gdm [2.8.0.1-r1] works flawlessly as expected. Bug is resolved. Changing resolution to fixed.
