I submitted and ebuild for the 0.10 version of lcd4linux in the bug 29250. One week later, that ebuild haven't been reviewed nor added to the cvs. I am opening this new bug to get that ebuild updated. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

You have attached an ebuild for the new version to a bug that has been marked fixed almost 2 years ago and expect it to appear in portage? :-) Bugs that are marked as fixed are not normally reviewed unless they are reopened, bugs for new ebuilds marked as fixed are not reviewed at all, there is no reason to do so. If you want a version bump, open a new bug.
It wasn't a joke. :) It was my first post to the bug database and I wasn't sure if a should open a new thread or continue that. I've learned the lesson.
I've uploaded the files to this thread. I've improved the init script to check for errors in the initialization.

Please key this "~amd" before it gets into portage.. the provided ebuild works GREAT on my AMD64 machine! Thanks Jesus de Santos Garcia for your efforts.
oops.. I meant "~amd64" instead of "~amd" ... of course
What hardware are you using? There are some problems with crystalfontz lcd. I've been told that the CVS version fixes this problems. I'll check it and update the ebuild. BTW, who is in charge of this ebuild? Who is "Default Assignee for Orphaned Packages"?
when will the lcd4linux-0.10.0.ebuild comes into the portage tree?
(In reply to comment #10) > when will the lcd4linux-0.10.0.ebuild comes into the portage tree? > I don't know when this will be stabilized. But I've been working with the ebuild presented in this bug for more than 6 months now with no problems.
Give this package some temporary loving.
Ok, I took your submission, and beat it into shape - it was broken in a number of ways: - X11 support in lcd4linux did not compile at all (it added -L -X11 to the cflags, which then failed to link against X11). - The src_unpack is redundant. - Don't mess with config_protect - You installed duplicated files. - You missed some documentation. - Your init script is not suitable - please rewrite it so that it works under all drivers - by catching errors codes instead of using pgrep. Lastly, please submit diffs against old versions, and clean up old cruft wherever possible.
Thanks for giving this information. It is very useful for people (like me) starting to learn all this great system. > Ok, I took your submission, and beat it into shape - it was broken in a number > of ways:
